I am a current licensed and actively practicing lawyer in Arkansas. My more than 20 year legal career has included a consistent diet of real estate matters in one way or another. I love all things real estate. Two other lawyers and a dedicated staff, most of whom are bilingual, work with me at The Law Office of Joseph Paul Smith, PA, in Springdale, Arkansas. Whether the case is civil, criminal or domestic, our law work includes a regular interface with all things real estate. As an attorney, I appreciate the practice of real estate executed correctly through our great local sales agents, brokers and lawyers.
Before obtaining my juris doctor degree at University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, I worked as a death investigator for New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator and also as a paramedic in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My energy, curiosity and desire to learn enabled me to get a bachelor’s of business degree from College of Santa Fe, Santa Fe, New Mexico, a master’s degree in divinity/pastoral counseling from the Old Catholic St. Gregory’s Seminary, and a master’s in business administration from Webster University, Saint Louis, Missouri.
In addition to law and real estate, I have been actively involved in ministry in the Old Catholic Church as a priest since 1997. Helping others and high level problem solving knits together my professional and personal work. I have a passion for helping and advocating for people. In my “spare time” you will find me practicing hot yoga, cooking, hanging out with friends, reading, and learning new things..

As your dedicated listing agent, let's assess your unique needs and expectations. When you hire me, my job is to sell your property for the highest price within a reasonable period of time. A property that sits on the market too long can be observed as overpriced, deficient, or problematic.
I am also a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and a Certified Stager and will offer consultation on the visual appearance of the property, both interior and exterior, often saving sellers thousands of dollars.
I hire and pay for professional photography and assist the photographer during the shoot. Because potential - and often out-of-state buyers view your property online, I ensure that every detail of an online listing is addressed. Together, we will feature all the architectural details of your property. During the listing period, you will hear from me frequently and regularly - I will share all the metrics that detail the performance of your listing.
My job will include:
1) advice and assist in preparations before house is listed,
2) staging and professional photography,
3) up-to-date and regular feedback on marketing activity in your neighborhood,
4) coordinate all showing, open houses, broker private previews,
5) consistent feedback from all buyers who visit your property,
6) communicate with buyers' agents and present all offers,
7) professionally negotiate on your behalf,
8) once under contract, move promptly to prepare for a smooth closing,
9) coordinate closing details and assure funding of sale.
